How Course Handicap is Calculated

Course Handicap = Handicap Index × (Slope Rating ÷ 113)

About the WHS Handicap System

The World Handicap System (WHS) calculates your Handicap Index by:

  1. Calculating a Score Differential for each round using: (Adjusted Gross Score - Course Rating) × 113 ÷ Slope Rating
  2. Taking the best differentials based on how many rounds you've recorded (e.g., best 8 of 20 rounds)
  3. Averaging those differentials and multiplying by 0.96
