📚 About IP Addresses

What is an IP Address? An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique numerical label assigned to every device connected to the internet. It's like your device's home address on the internet.

IPv4 vs IPv6: IPv4 addresses look like 192.168.1.1 (four numbers), while IPv6 addresses are much longer and use hexadecimal format. IPv6 was created because we were running out of IPv4 addresses!

Public vs Private: Your public IP is what the internet sees. Your device also has a private IP address used within your local network (like your home WiFi).

Location Accuracy: IP geolocation shows the approximate location of your internet service provider, not your exact physical location. It's typically accurate to the city level.

💡 Privacy Tip: If you're concerned about privacy, consider using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) which masks your real IP address with one from a different location.
