  • -Order of Sharps: F, C, G, D, A, E, B (remember: Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle)
  • -Order of Flats: B, E, A, D, G, C, F (remember: Battle Ends And Down Goes Charles Father)
  • -Finding the major key from sharps: Go up a half step from the last sharp (e.g., if last sharp is C#, key is D major)
  • -Finding the major key from flats: The second-to-last flat is the key (e.g., if flats are Bb, Eb, Ab, key is Eb major)
  • -Relative minor: Always 3 semitones (minor third) below the major key - they share the same key signature
