Voltage Unit Prefixes
- Megavolt (MV): 1,000,000 volts. Used in high-voltage power transmission and lightning research.
- Kilovolt (kV): 1,000 volts. Common for power distribution lines and industrial equipment.
- Volt (V): The SI base unit of voltage. Used for most everyday applications from batteries to household outlets.
- Millivolt (mV): 0.001 volts. Used in sensitive electronic circuits, sensors, and medical equipment like ECG machines.
- Microvolt (uV): 0.000001 volts. Used in extremely sensitive measurements like brain wave monitoring (EEG) and radio frequency applications.
Safety Considerations
